  Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

  i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

  nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

  over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

  Meetings are important to the GB as ever. Liabilities shut down home book studies/meetings for field service.

  Meetings are losing their importance to the rank & file. The internet has put a chill on hearts and a blue sign on every KH. Seats are empty. Enthusiasm wanes. Socializing is no fun with fake people pretending they are happy. Paradise is lost forever around the corner that never comes.

  Information has always been second hand at the meetings. Never an original thought. Every minute was/is based on the mad scribbling of the writing department months or years ago.

  Kingdom Halls are no longer Jehovah’s house, they are real estate tokens to be traded when the time is right. All the little sheep know this. Looking around seeing all the POMOS & PIMIS and fakers, faders, freeloaders, no wonder they dread going to meeting.

  I would like to hear what Dr. Fauci has to say about all the people dying now and eventually out of fear of going to the hospital for serious health issues because of Covid. What about suicides and mental breakdowns? Poverty, malnutrition, starvation. Every kid who is now unvaccinated for anything because parents freaked out and skipped them.

  He can keep generating fear and collapsing the economy that will take a decade to repair but this Covid 19 is not the zombie apocalypse they want us to believe it is.

  The cure and course of lockdowns and flattening the curve, waiting for testing and vaccines that are not needed or will never come is going to have far greater human life consequences than the damn disease death count.

  We are in the twilight zone right now and for fuck sake I'm actually rooting for Trump to bring us out of it.

  As always, impeccable work Paul. Refreshing to hear you are pursuing other interests and remarkable that you still found the time and desire to put together and share such informative personal examination of the topic and the perspective of Raymond.

  Every JW suffers the same delusions as described vividly of the GB. While the GB are in the highest positions, the organization is designed to make everyone feel there is another rung of the ladder to be achieved. No one is ever doing enough. Always move forward, improve, "reach out". Knowing full well no extra days of everlasting life will come from it.

  The higher the position, the greater burden in the mind when doubts creep in. "The harder they fall" as it were.

  The GB are painfully ordinary men playing the only game they know at the highest level in full recognition, or at the very least cognitive dissonance, that everything they believe in is in fact complete bullshit.

  Do doubt each one of them quietly struggles with their own crisis of conscience.

  Our store shelves are still empty going on 6 weeks of every paper good, disinfectants, pasta, beans, rice, peanut butter and now meat. We can't find masks so we made them.

  I'm going back to work on Monday and my aversion has nothing to do with apocalyptic shortages.

  I've managed to find a muffin top, my boobs are obscene and my roots are horrific.

  The Fundamental difference between Islam and Christianity

  ever since i came out of the witnesses, i've become very political.. i've heard lots of arguments back and forth for many things.. in the u.s. there is the argument that it is "racist" to want to deny entry to muslims.

  while there is freedom of religion, there is also the very valid concern of maintaining democracy and a justice system that is based on modern values.we as exjw's constantly quote the pew center for statistics on jw's such as: they are last place in the us for members of a religion that go to university, and second-last for poverty levels of members of a religion.

  we accept those statistics and mention them as proof of how damaging the jw's are.now, let's use the same center for some very scary statistics on islam:http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/07/22/muslims-and-islam-key-findings-in-the-u-s-and-around-the-world/.

  Some data looks like the common flu. A lot of data doesn't. I don't think trying to make this a political issue works. The entire globe is suffering many of which at this moment are on the threshold of being horrific.

  I understand the angst. I want to get back to work too. But we all need to calm down and focus on what we can control instead of what we can not.

  Personally, I am moved by the world unity for the most part that for decades I was told would not be possible. Yes there are some outliers and that is ok too. They bring a balance to the force.

  If this is the best the cosmos can throw at us in a universe that is trying to kill us all, we should be thankful we are doing as well as we are.
